Reminder…why are we in Anapoima?
Monday July 1, 2024 -Anapoima, Colombia-
Anyone need a refresher of where and what we’re doing here? It seems like we are on vacation. Not quite the case. Believe me, I am retaining the services of my travel agent (Claudia) who found this nice house for us. Big fan…she is phenomenal!
Outskirts of Bogota. Maybe more remote than I was expecting. This little town I feel like I already have memorized for driving purposes.
The answer to the above question is we are waiting on our court date which has been filed in La Mesa (about a 15 minute drive from here). Remember, we were told the courts work faster here for adoption. Last week we heard it was possible that we might have a July 2 hearing. Well, reality has settled in a bit. Now we are back to our original estimated date of Thursday July 4….but even that has shifted to a “maybe at the end of the day”. I’m not exactly brimming with confidence at this moment. BUT! Again God be praised, we are in a nice place. Kids I think are getting sick of each other. I can understand that. Pool shenanigans probably can get old with your sibling. Still, they’re doing great. Just need to shake it up once in awhile by going for ice cream or other treat. Nani is happy because the Copa America soccer tournament is going on now so she gets to see Argentina & Colombia matches ( her favorite two teams). In truth, Santi I think is tired of watching soccer. We’ll have to find a good movie for him soon.
You know you would if you could…chew on your toe nail!
I’m going to get yelled at later for writing that!
We are doing two-a-days for pool use. At least that is peanut and my plan. He is certainly enjoying his pool time. Big splashing that we call “disorden!!!” With lots of laughing. I’m a bit disappointed I can’t find any pictures of this madness.
Evening can be complicated. Keeping little boy entertained waiting for the correct window of time between bottle & bed. Part of this entrainment was the placing of a peanut in a wind tunnel. He may have enjoyed himself. (Wind tunnel was a floor fan).
This is a crucial time. It doesn’t matter if he has been having the time of his life and it is all smiles & giggling, the second he SEES the bottle with his own eyes, our worlds coming crashing in. The speed between whine to meltdown has yet to be recorded. Amazing. The crash between bottle to bed is record setting as well. Last night, he fell asleep with bottle in mouth and was gently burped, pj’d and put down. Unprecedented action and coordination.
That’ll do it for today I think.
