How our journey began

Mariana - May 2011 - San Andres, Colombia

Mariana came into our lives April 2011. Obviously, she was our first. We were so nervous. We had our entrega day (Gotcha day) at the ICBF office. Claudia was absolutely glowing. All the pictures she has a smile ear-to-ear. Me? Pasty white and scared to death. Mariana bonded with mom pretty quickly. She would scream any time I got near her (insert all jokes in the comments below). It was probably about a week or more before I could actually hold her without her crying.

The journey continues. Along come Santiago!

Santiago- All business

Santiago joined our home September 2015. Entrega day was fun. ICBF policies changed and we needed to welcome Santi to our home with a welcoming party. We did just that which was an improvement, still a pain meeting expectations but nice. This picture is from gotcha day. Santi’s was taking it all in. He enjoyed playing with Mariana and the balloons. He was comfortable with us all. That expressionless face didn’t last long. His personality came out really quick! I love his eyes in this picture. They are so clear you can see us in the reflection in his eyes. OUR MAN!

“Not flesh of my flesh or bone of my bone, But still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute, you didn’t grow under mami’s heart, you grew in it!”

“We love because He first loved us”
