Big reveal with the Soto side of the family
Last post I talked about telling my mother our wonderful news. Well, we had the other side of the family to tell as well. It happened about a week later on a weekend that we were all home. This post wont have any beautiful sunsets or northern lights over a lake. I suppose I could take a picture of a screen shot with the in-laws but way less effective I guess.
Claudia took a leadership role in talking with her parents and it ended up going well. At first, Hernando (her dad), was taking a nap so Claudia made small talk with her mom. Once dad was awake, the phone was passed off for small talk with dad. After a lengthy conversation, Claudia asked for her mom to get back on the line which actually scared her. I suppose when someone tells you “I’ve got news to share with you both” can put a scare in someone. It went good. Although I did hear Hernando tell Claudia to tell me “No Mas”, which I found ridiculous as if I was the only driving force in this decision to adopt.
Jairo & Lili; we were not able to get a hold of them that same day and figured that they would probably hear through the grapevine before we could talk to them. That doesn’t appear to have happened. Claudia was able to tell them a day or two later when the returned Claudia’s call. There was quite a bit of excitement in their voices and they asked if we would stop by to visit Florida on our way back from Colombia. We might, but no promises as of this date.
