A move to Santa Rosa!
Thursday July 25, 2024 -Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia-
This morning went like the others except my wife woke up early to go to Eucharistic Adoration at the chapel up the street. It was at 6:15 this morning. By the time I woke up, she was gone. Nani & Santi came with this time but peanut stayed with grandma again. She has really embraced her time with Andre. We appreciate her help as these days would be rough on him. We were a bit rushed again as we needed to be up in Santa Rosa by 10. Our friend, Nestor, offered his home to us for a few weeks and we needed to take over the keys and learn the ins & outs of the property. Fun fact, this home is right next door to my in-laws old house. In fact, this property was part of the first purchase we made here in Colombia. Nestor bought this land from us. That’s how we got to know him. I can give you the inside information about why we sold tomorrow. It’s a beautiful area and gets us thinking about what could’ve been but no regrets.
After securing the house, we headed to the property for yet another meeting. Lots of meetings about that property on this trip for sure.
We had a disappointing lunch in town prior to another meeting with Marco Tulio, a business man that we bought our lot from. Before that meeting, we had time to stop by the cathedral. We wouldn’t be the Chases if we didn’t.
I did not know that the patron saint of this town is St. Rose of Lima who is very close to our family.
A good chunk of our meetings are with him regarding some questions that have come up along the way. We met for coffee at our favorite little shop Cesar Restrepo Pastelería. They never let us down for coffee or dessert.
We headed back to Pereira to pack . Ended up back at the house around 8 pm and settled in. Peanut got to bed a bit late but was quite a little trooper.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings!
